With just a few steps you can use the Informatik Forum on your iPhone or iPad like a stand-alone web app. You can also activate push notifications to receive notifications directly on your iOS device.

Requirements

• An IOS Device
• A user account in the Informatik Forum

Step 1: Add forum as a web app to the home screen

1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad and go to the computer science forum at https://informatik.forum
2. Tap the share icon at the bottom center (a square with an arrow pointing upwards)
3. Scroll down in the menu and select the “Add to home screen” option.
4. Give the shortcut a name, e.g. “Informatik Forum”. This name will be displayed under the icon on your home screen as a web app
5. Tap on “Add” at the top right. The forum will now appear as an icon on your home screen as a web app and can be accessed directly from there

Step 2: Activate push notifications

1. Open the Informatik Forum via the new web app
2. Tap on your profile picture at the top right and activate the push notifications function using “Set preference”
3. When Web App asks if you want to allow notifications, confirm this with “Allow”
4. Finally, check whether notifications are activated in the iOS settings under “Settings > Notifications > Informatik Forum (name of your created web app)”
